An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, for lack of a better word, is the fitness expert who is licensed to ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft before flying in accordance with the national & international aviation standards.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License is issued in Accordance with CAR 66 and 133B of the Aircraft Rule 1937 derived from the Aircraft act 1934 (XXII to 1934) passed by Indian parliament, Govt. of India under the aircraft rule 1937. DGCA is a regulatory body to deal with all matters pertaining to Civil Aviation in the country.
Safety is a very important factor, when it comes to aircraft. An aircraft is made of thousands of latest technologies and numerous parts, engines, electrical and electronic systems. With time and use, parts tend to wear and tear down, which prompts the regular inspection and maintenance of aircraft. An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is specially trained to inspect an aircraft, diagnose its problems, rectify the problems found in accordance with the regulation spelled in CAR regulated by DGCA.
AME is a job profile with high dignity and responsibility as it deals with the wellbeing and protection of aircrafts and its passengers. Before every take off, it is the responsibility of a licensed AME to certify the aircraft the aircraft if fit for flying . As such one should understand the importance of the responsibilities which is to be maintained in the highest spirit in accordance with both national and international standards. Merely completion of ame course will not fetch the students any license or degree/diploma, only those students should join this course who have the ability to face the challenge in passing all the dgca modules, examinations and acquiring necessary maintenance experience in order to get the ame licence conducted by dgca govt of India.
